There’s a soul sickness in our state when Tennessee Republican legislators are more concerned with protecting gun manufacturers from lawsuits, than children from being killed by mass shootings.
We said, protect children not guns— they choose the guns.
This is morally insane.
@leegirl11@NHL@NPR I just re-listened to it a third time to see if the host was overly combative. I don't think he was. Just my $0.02. I suspect that the commissioner had a sense of what would be asked and was defensive from the get-go and then flipped the condescension and combat switch.
Listened twice this morning to @NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman on @npr. Would really behoove the guy to spend some real time doing media training. His condescending, combative posture didn’t do him any good.
New report from National Urban League finds voting restrictions, attempts to undermine Black political leaders and limiting how racial history is taught in schools are leading threats to democracy for Black Americans. https://t.co/UmmFSVzS20
@joshbrodesky SATX is certainly a progressive city but it’s also one that has been more supportive of law enforcement over the years than peer cities have.
When fascist ideals begin to drown out democracy, we must fight back. Voices like State Rep. Justin Pearson are exactly what America needs in this moment.
Wondering why it's been more than 24 hours since I sent messages to @usaa_help, their 24/7 availability account, and still haven't received a response. @USAA, anyone there?
“He bought the company, made a point of showcasing what he believed was broken and manipulated under previous management, then turns around and manipulates the platform to force engagement on all users to hear only his voice,” said a current employee. https://t.co/S11I2fkqn3
On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the worst, how offensive is this? That's right, it's a 10--certainly to the many families of victims of AR-15 murders.
If I paid $170k for my house, and 6 yrs later a similar home next door is selling for $400k, for tax purposes my value shouldn’t jump dramatically. I’m just living here, puttering around.
Good for the sellers, and great tax revenue, too.
But why should we HAVE to keep up?
@MikeBoard1200@IvyRTaylor The best site — and a totally missed opportunity — was at what's now Civic Park at Hemisfair. I never saw them but heard of GORGEOUS renderings of a sunken park with a street-level brick facade. Would have been amazing.
