Glad people care about birds being killed by wind turbines. We go out of our way to avoid it.
But compared to the deaths from communications towers, cars and cats, turbines are irrelevant.
And that’s before you look at the catastrophic impact of climate change on wildlife.
@heatpolicyrich We’re in the process of getting an Aira heat pump installed - non-reversible, waiting for planning (Bromley) apparently due to the size of the unit (12kw). Ridiculous when you can extend 8m at the rear single story and it’s a fraction of the size of a shed…
Tesla Throttle mapping (potentiometer) and traction control are underrated.
I have driven tons of EVs with terrible pedal feel, and weird blending of friction brakes.
An average monthly COP of 5.3 at an average temperature of 5.7°C for heating and hot water is really really very impressive. Way cheaper than gas. Insanely amazing work @Damon_BPHR and @_heatgeek. Credit also due to heat pump manufacturer @ViessmannGroup.
When you see another Daily Fail article saying that EVs won’t take off and people aren’t buying them, then just remember that they don’t have a good track record record in this regard
1.85 million Teslas made and 1.81 million delivered in 2023! It was hard to imagine a few years ago that essentially two vehicle models (Model 3/Y) can become this popular. Sustainable energy transition is happening and there’s no turning back ⚡️🚗⚡️
The UK has by far the highest ratio of Electricity price to Gas price.
This is a result of Tory Government policies:
1. Gas for electricity incurs a Carbon Tax, whereas gas for boilers does not.
2. The price of ALL electricity is set by the price of Gas-fired electricity.

Tesla had to open up the Supercharger network to all EVs. They had to.
Letting legacy automakers shit the bed that badly was just giving EVs a bad name.
Let the pros handle this one.
Global EV adoption continues to increase and hit a record 11.8% in 3Q, up from 10.7% in 2Q, and up from 10.1% in 2022/3Q. The MSM narrative that EV adoption is suddenly stalling is nonsense. We expect global EV adoption to reach 13.0% in 2023/4Q, up from 11.2% in 2002/4Q. @MartinViecha@elonmusk Source: EV-Volumes
@Nigelsmiff1979@OctopusEnergy Our new smart meter stopped reporting after just under 3 months too. No power cycle booked yet, still waiting for the attempted remote fix. Hoping we don’t lose out on the intelligent tariff whilst it’s broken @OctopusEnergy
GREAT ODIN’S RAVEN! @motoway has submitted a planning application for a solar farm and redevelopment of its Wetherby services on the A1(M) to include… *checks notes*… ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY new EV charging bags, plus FIFTY FOUR new electric HGV charging bays. 😮🤯👏
Going slow on heat pumps could mean UK consumers having to pay an extra £3bn for imported gas 2026-2030, says @EnergyUKcomms
Says UK govt foot-dragging is "increasing costs for energy customers & hampering future system planning"

Regardless of any laws, data shows the UK public are moving to electric cars in their hundreds of thousands each year because they’re superior, cheaper and healthier for everyone around them, a delay in any laws whilst frustrating for some won’t change that trajectory 💪
