@SnazzyLabs Unfortunately even outside of menus i also get dropped frames in high bitrate Dolbyvision media occasionally, but I suppose that could be a problem with my TV. It’s far from perfect especially when paired with the even further from perfect stereo pair HomePods.

Audio mixing another choice that goes into film/tv production, and the intention behind it is going to depend on what the creator wants. Sometimes dialogue is intended to be muted so you focus on other things.
