My mom had knee surgery a few days ago. I called to see how she was doing. We never even talked about her knee, she said she was doing great and then started asking me questions about me and my family. She cares about everyone else more than herself. The definition of unselfish.

When I was a senior my Dad drove to Mitchell, SD in his overalls, knowing I was going to sit the bench. Gave me a hug, told me he loved me, and told me to keep being a good teammate, then drove home. He always told me he didn't care if I played. That day he SHOWED ME.

Parents: my Dad told me he didn't care about points or playing time from the time I was 5 years old and that only my attitude and effort mattered. I didn't believe him until THAT DAY. I was 23. Keep telling your kids that their value has NOTHING to do with points or playing time.
