The report not only identified anti-Israel and antizionist ideologies as drivers of discrimination—it found that 70% of Jewish students say their institution does not take antisemitism seriously.

Consider the experience of UBC student Rachel Seguin, whose administration told her they could not help. As Rachel makes clear, hers is just one story but sadly, it is far from unique.

This feels like a good moment to remember that Ireland got rich not by producing much or innovating anything, but mostly by becoming one of the world's biggest tax havens -- by enabling large companies from other nations to hide their tax revenues from their home nations.

Apple, Microsoft and Google have routed many hundreds of billions of dollars through Ireland to shelter their profits.

Israel, in contrast, got rich by innovating at a colossal scale. It spends 6% of its GDP on R&D, the highest of any nation on Earth. 10% of its workforce works in tech.

That's why those same Apple, Microsoft and Google all built massive R&D centers in Israel, alongside 500 other multinationals. The defense tech is famous, but Israel is also a global powerhouse in water and agriculture. And it draws 10% of global deep-tech investment in medical devices and food R&D.

So a tax-cheat nation that got rich by impoverishing others now refuses a safety system meant to land planes safely in the fog from a nation that actually produces new and useful things for the world.

It's one thing not to buy arms, or to exact political costs for a war you hate. This isn't that. This is just sanctimonious narcissism.

Take the fog safety system, you preening tax-cheats. We promise to look the other way.

I support the two-state solution in Spain - a sovereign state for Spain and a sovereign state for the peaceful immigrants who entered their land.

Since October 7 it has been horrifying to see Hamas apologists, presenting themselves as pro-Palestine, celebrate the group as a legitimate entity that supposedly represents the Palestinian people’s best interests and is somehow an organic expression of resistance on behalf of Palestinian grievances. Since its inception, Hamas has been deeply detrimental to Palestinian interests.

Indeed, the group carefully timed the attacks of October 7 against the backdrop of its unpopularity in the Gaza Strip – mere months after yet another round of protests opposed to its rule. The attack was also part of a geopolitical chess game in which Hamas’s chief backer, supplier and instigator – the Islamic Republic of Iran – was seeking to block the normalisation of Israel’s relations with Arab and Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia.

Hamas’s 18 years of repressive governance in Gaza had hit a dead end. The terror group was able to be neither a successful government nor an effective force of armed resistance; the October 7 attack was a form of suicidal nihilism that the group hoped to use to shake up the status quo, ultimately choosing to sacrifice Gaza and its people in the process.

It was not because the Palestinian people were out of options that Hamas carried out the attack. It was in its own interests, and in those of its master in the Middle East, to stage a dramatic and bloody act to inflame the region.

The so-called pro-Palestine movement did not recognise this, which is disturbing and demonstrative of the hopeless ignorance of many of the Palestinian people’s supposed allies. Hamas is a moral stain on the Palestinian cause; those who genuinely support our national aspirations should have found it entirely unproblematic to condemn the group’s murders and rapes, its firing of rockets at civilians, and its Islamist ideology.

I was furious that a once-in­-a­-generation opportunity to drum up support for the Palestinian people was squandered on sloganeering and hollow activism. I heard nothing constructive, no desire or attempt to produce pragmatic policies and results for the Palestinian people.

Instead of doubling down on the two­-state solution and acknowledging that the Palestinian people do not want the annihilation of Israel but, rather, seek dignity, freedom and independence, activists in the Western world became drunk on the worst possible combination of extremism, oversimplification and maximalism.

This toxic mix has been harmful to the lives and liberty of Palestinians and to the cause of the Palestinian people.

When I spoke out against these trends, I was attacked viciously. I realised many in the so-­called pro-­Palestine movement are deeply anti-­Palestinian, for they are interested only in platforming and embracing views and experiences that conform to their beliefs.

That a Gazan like me – who lost family members in the war, who is largely deaf in his left ear following an Israeli bombing in 2001 and who has been on the front lines of providing humanitarian support for Palestinians in Gaza – could be dismissed for sharing the “wrong views” was an alarming sign of the degradation of this Western-­based activism. Furthermore, large segments of the Arab and Palestinian communities in the diaspora became their own worst enemies, enforc­ing conformity and promul­gating extreme positions.

They remained silent lest they be called traitors, sell­outs or Zionists. Speaking out against Hamas was somehow viewed as supporting Israel’s war on Gaza, endorsing the horrors experienced by Palestinian civilians or adopting Benjamin Netanyahu’s and Israeli talking points, or as a betrayal of the Palestinian right to resist Israeli injustices. This simplistic reductionism was picked up by Hamas, which immediately registered the support for its actions in diaspora communities, particularly in the West and in the US, where political leverage matters most.

The Great Hospital Con: Doctors Without Borders (MSF) pulled out of the al-Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, and just yesterday explained its decision. It has said exactly what I have repeatedly talked about for over a year and shared personal examples of friends of mine being imprisoned, interrogated, and tortured within various facilities inside the hospital from Hamas's intelligence and security services. MSF is two years late to this recognition but it is ultimately confirming what even a child in southern Gaza could have told the organization or the NYT, Washington Post, BBC, Al Jazeera and countless others had they bothered to ask - which is that Hamas has literally turned Gaza's three main hospitals into headquarters for security, ministerial, and administrative operations.

When I said this time and again, people would yell and scream how I was irresponsibly justifying Israel’s targeting of the hospital, even as the same people would not utter a word about their favorite terrorist fascist organization jeopardizing the safety of medical facilities for two years of the deadly war.

Congratulations “pro-Palestine” activists: you have been conned by your beloved resistance organization which has caused the death of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians by its conduct and behavior.

Hamas sympathizers proudly admitted to disrupting one of the busiest shopping days in Canada. On Boxing Day, a time when shoppers can find better prices on clothing and stores typically see higher sales, their activities were interrupted by these jihadists, even as Canada grapples with an economic crisis. On the other hand, the jihadists harassed and intimidated ordinary Canadians, while also harming the revenue of mall stores. All of this unfolded in front of Toronto Police officers. The police were aware of the protest in advance and could easily identify the individuals involved afterward to enforce the law, yet they chose not to act. We have passed two-tier policing. Firstly - define "private" delegation. It was organized and sponsored (financially) by the NCCM , formerly CAIR, a group that lobbies on behalf of Muslim Canadians and their interests.
The "private delegation", as you call it - "included" MPs. See, Anita, once MPs are on the trip - it ain't private. They are accountable to the people of Canada. Get it?
Furthermore - as the Minister of Foreign Affairs - you should be aware that crossing from Jordan into the West Bank is much more difficult. But this was a publicity stunt - as i posted a few hours ago. They wanted to be turned away so they could blow up their jew hating/Israel hating narrative. Had they crossed from Israel into the WB they would have been fine. But here's the thing - Anita - they couldn't bring themselves to step on Occupied Palestinian land - aka the Zionist entity - aka Israel. So they decided to enter from Jordan.
Hey - know why the West Bank is called the West Bank, Anita? Cuz the East Bank of the Jordan River is - Jordan. Most of Mandatory Palestine - was land that constitutes - the Kingdom of Jordan. So - if you apply logic - that makes Jordan Occupied as well.
