I think this whole 86 thing is misguided, I my personal experience the term was used to ban people from an establishment (bar, music venue) for life due to bad behavior. We literally had a book called the 86 book with photos of all those who could not enter - we never wished death on any of them. So not sure what all the fuss is about…
