Beware: I cancelled my X premium weeks ago and it's still trying to charge me. Luckily I had the foresight to use @PrivacyHQ (not sponsored) Please use virtual cards for every subscription so you can take control over companies like this.
@ghirapurigears Agreed, but to split hairs: I think the concept of a plane-wide horror house was lit. The 'retro modern' (sneakers, TVs, etc) was what was bad.
As an immigrant, it took me 13 years to become a citizen and gain the power to vote. If you can vote, please do. Use this power in the name of all the people that are striving for that same say in our future together. πͺππ€π«
@GavinVerhey This makes me curious how, as a game developer, you would fix the problem of how to get everyone to vote. If people are complaining that their vote doesn't count or doesn't matter, how would you fix the system to increase that metric? Fun thought experiment if anything. π
This is worth the read. I really don't want this to be true. This is only one side of the story but I'm much more likely to believe an artist than a company. Donato is a paragon of this game and of the fantasy art world. Waiting for a response from WOTC @blakepr
Tiers should be about intent not individual cards.
Tier 4 - win at any cost
Tier 3 - win, but everyone has a good time
Tier 2 - see everyoneβs deck do the thing, winning is a bonus
Tier 1 - doing something funny/clever/thematic, idgaf about winning
I play at a 2. How about you?
One of his best. Starts by addressing the most important issue (hate and attacks) then threads a narrow, precarious yet ultimately well-thought out line between the 'hard truths' of the past few days. Thank you yet again, @TolarianCollege!
Yet another day I wake up and feel a bit sick that @goberthicks's sound plan for the bans was voted down and/or overruled. She had the right idea, the right reasons, and the wisdom to spot the errors in what ultimately transpired.
This is what constructive discourse looks like. @Einheijar4040 disagrees with me on commander bans and talked about why. His POV made me see something new I hadn't considered. I still think we should #unbanlotus, but appreciate the two points of view for others to think about.
@jboveda@mtgcommander I strongly disagree with this opinion. Jeweled lotus was a mistake, but the bigger mistake was not banning it immediately. The best time to ban it was on printing, the second best time to ban it is now.
@Einheijar4040@mtgcommander No worries, all good! I don't think it'll illustrate your point since it wouldn't get made even if I answer that the RC would ban it. It wouldn't so they wouldn't.
I will acknowledge though that JL is still technically legal in Legacy & Vintage, despite having no obvious use.π
I appreciate this @mtgcommander. However, the lotus ban is an objective mistake. I get not "going back" for subjective reasons, but you did the equivalent of banning Black Lotus in Vintage. Banning JL is wrong. It cannot be played elsewhere. You must turn back. #unbanlotus
@Einheijar4040@mtgcommander It sucks too because not reprinting it (because it's a mistake) would just lead to the same situation that drove Black Lotus to insane prices. However, bad as it is, banning cards for power level in the one format they can be played in is not correct.
@Einheijar4040@mtgcommander I agree that printing it was a mistake. Just like Black Lotus was a mistake. Both are creations of their times. But they do exist, and thus deserve a format to be played in. They cannot be banned from existence. That's not how magic ever worked.
Magali showing us how she feels about the Commander bans.
(just kidding this has nothing to do with the bans, but wanted to repost art to wash out the sick pall of community vitriol with the fresh scent of beautiful art)
