I can only speak from a high school academic class perspective where it is difficult to integrate successfully and be accepted by peers. Often support staff are unavailable and someone who they don’t know sits with them doing nothing.

@KateLyonPR Agreed. Universities are noticing with their high failure rates in first year. The pressure is now being put on secondary teachers to fix the literacy and numeracy deficits. By grade 10, the proverbial horse has left the barn for many students.

@CatherineCook58 It is all window dressing until those actions are taken. This is similar to the unsupported evidence to not practice automaticity in times tables at the early grades. Our most vulnerable students are suffering the most from this policy.

@Jimnelson806 @grapemanca We can do better as a system. We don’t want to use ineffective pedagogy or strategy. Both can and do get measured. The sad part of teaching at the end of the system is the number ofSs dreams smashed once they realize how little they have learned and how poorly prepared they are.
