@olson_dan This mirrors my career trajectory substantially. “Engine generalist” == “everything that isn’t graphics”. I’ve often wondered what the outcome would have been if I’d focused more on pushing more into graphics vs just doing the work that needed to be done.
Arkheron is a new team based pvp game where 15 teams of three fight to Ascend a mysterious tower. Your team will work together to collect items, combine their powerful abilities and create unique builds on the fly to be the last team standing.

Bill Petras was a true legend in the gaming world and a foundational figure at Blizzard. As Art Director on World of Warcraft and Overwatch, his vision and leadership shaped some of the most iconic games of our time. Our shooter simply wouldn't be what it is - or even exist - without his work.
Beyond his talent and impact, Billy was a remarkable human. Kind, compassionate, and deeply empathetic, he always had time for people - whether it was to talk art, games, or his beloved Conan.
I was lucky enough to be his hiking buddy for a time, but my earliest memory goes back to my first interview at Blizzard. Billy led it. We talked art and architecture, but when I mentioned Frazetta and Conan, his eyes lit up. I still believe that's how I got the job.
Rest in peace, Billy. You will be deeply missed.
