@Ventnor411 I used $50 worth of water and am charged a $250 fee. I’m told this fee is quarterly, making it $1k in annual fees. The avg American earns $40k a year after taxes. In this city, the average resident would pay 2.5% of earnings in water fees. Do you think this is right?
@Dennis_Porter_ Don’t overthink perfect money. The only reason gold ever backed anything was because it wasn’t verifiable, denominational, or portable. #bitcoin is all 3. There is no reason to back anything with bitcoin. Just use bitcoin.
Sanctions against Russia provide valid excuse to begin using new financial system. One of the worlds largest energy exporters (Russia) and the largest exporter of everything else (China) are “forced” to use a new system— likely the digital renminbi, “backed” by gold. (1/3)
@SaavyInvestr@disclosetv SA is 2nd largest exporter of oil and has historically sold oil on USD system and bought a ton of US debt in the process. As energy exporters like Russia and SA diversify out of US debt investments, energy business is done with diff currencies. Hurts USD reserve currency status.
@Dennis_Porter_ 6 months! And if we are measuring GDP with a USD that had a real inflation of 15%, El Salvador was just a better underperformer. Other countries in South America performed similarly without adoption of BTC. Correlation not causation. It will take 3-5 years to see the real effect.
@nayibbukele is not only leading El Salvador into the industrialized world and out from under the World Bank and IMF’s suppressive policies, but he’s blazing a trail that every developing nation can follow. (1/2)
