I tell my students:
If you made a mistake, apologise
If you are appreciative, show it
If you are stuck, ask for help
If you were mistreated, speak up
If you learn something new, teach others
If someone doubts your skills, keep going
If something isn't working, change it
To this I would add: 1. Disable the ‘Reply All’ button; 2. If you find yourself about to send an email to only one person, STOP. Pick up the phone or go and talk to them.
