I think it’s worth the additional cost if you’re already using premium everything else.
A PT frame was always the weakest spot even using all the tape in the world. I like steel but it can get tricky in complex builds.
This strucural composite is aesthetically pleasing compared to wood, especially 5-10 years down the road when you’re not having to look up at all those algae covered knotty joists.
We’ve only used it once but I liked it, seemed it was 4x price if I remember correctly.
@NoRiskNoParty You have to do a lot of volume to make buying direct beneficial. There’s a lot of hidden costs when you take on material management at an inventory level that needs to be factored in.
Local vendors absorb most of that for you.
I bought my first house for 115k that needed a ton of work. Mainly just complete exterior and a bathroom remodel.
I sold it 6 years later and moved into an apartment and used the roughly 85k to start my business,
I rented for nearly 5 years then took that 85k back and bought another fixer upper for around 300k.
Lived there for 5 or so years and sold it for 450k.
Moved into another rental and within a year or so I bought my current house for 350k cash. It was listed for 390k but I was just going around low balling all the listings to see if anyone would bite.
My current house is worth around 750k now after some major upgrades but I plan to live there here another 10-15 years until I officially retire and down size.
It’s a private street looking down on the river with golf course behind us. It’s very desirable area with million dollar houses all around us.
I’m just a simple tradesman who built a business from nothing and worked pretty much every moment I can while still be available to my family.
It can be done. These 20 something’s don’t think the hard work is worth it anymore. They think it’s crazy to work more than the bare minimum.
When I was 18 I remember thinking non stop how could I get a nice house with a sports car and boat. It consumed me, I’d go home early on Friday nights so I could get up early Saturday and work instead of partying to 6am.
Once I got to the point of having the house I can’t justify the boat or sports car now, it’s all retirement. I tried the boat and it made me sick seeing the money go up in flames.
Google is the clear runaway here, people are already trained to “google” things.
Microsoft hasn’t created anything I’m aware on the AI front.
I believe the deal with OpenAI was we will buy AI from you, you buy infrastructure from us.
The problem is no one else is paying into that circle.
Gemini is better because it’s on the browser we are trained to use for decades. I hate them inserting into their other apps.
Microsoft only has inserting into their core products.
@mhp_guy Wild you whore yourself out like this.
You're better off turning it into those cute little reindeer's and selling on the side of the road each year.
Crypto has no utility, the price was drove up due to it being a fad.
Now that it has platued for the most part people aren’t investing and there’s more an outflow.
I don’t need to see the data, I’m going by the general sentiment. There’s no new I got rich from bitcoin story’s.
I bought in and rode it up over 60’s doing 3x. I then pulled my initial investment out so I’m playing with house money now and don’t plan to sell it anytime soon.
I did hate I did than when it broke 100 but had taken the emotion out for me.
@realestatedude0 If you’re an agent you just need to notify them that you’re representing yourself in the purchase.
You don’t need to disclose anything else.
@ChrisRamsey60 Looses his chin the rest of the year on it. Guy next to is landscaper and does this. All the equipment etc, preparing for storms that never come, working worst hours all night when it does.
