@GOPMajorityWhip There is really nothing democratic about capitalism. The winner is always the one with the most money. Money is everything, and the bottom line. It's a system where the people who lose the game get to sleep on the street.
This week, the House Ways and Means Committee, in conjunction with Trump officials, have subpoenaed The Peoples Forum, BreakThrough News, and Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research for financial records, internal communications, and organizational records. The National Lawyers Guild (NLG), CODEPINK, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the Venceremos Brigade, and IFCO/Pastors for Peace are also under intense scrutiny.
These organizations have been active participants in the fight against the unspeakable genocidal assault on Gaza since 2023, the holocaust of the 21st century. This subpoena shows a dangerous escalation of the tactics by Trump and the right wing to dismantle the antiwar left. My Congressional campaign stands in solidarity with all the organizations under attack.
When Trump took office in 2025, one of his first acts with ICE was to round up all the protesters who played key roles in the student encampments against the genocide in Gaza. This subpoena is designed to have a similarly chilling effect on the antiwar movement, by targeting organizations that have been active in the fight against the genocide in Gaza, the horrific blockade and sanctions against the Cuban people, and against the terror campaign by ICE.
Defeating Trump's attacks on working people and the antiwar movement will also mean fighting the Democratic Party, which represents the interests of the same billionaires and multimillionaires that fuel Trump and the right wing.
My opponent, genocidal Democrat Adam Smith, is being bankrolled by AIPAC and other pro-genocide Zionist lobby groups as well as top weapons CEOs and PACs for companies like Palentir, Anduril, Lockheed Martin, Space X, and General Dynamics. Many of Smith’s campaign funders are the same corporations that have given large donations to Trump to carry out his vicious right-wing agenda. Smith has voted repeatedly to fund the genocide in Gaza, to create and fund ICE, for imperialist wars in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and Libya. Just last December, Smith cosponsored the $906 billion war budget that gave free rein to Trump's war on Iran that has left a trail of blood. Both of these parties have blood all over their hands. Their representatives like Trump, Marco Rubio, and Adam Smith need to go.
In contrast, my independent socialist campaign for Congress is fighting for a complete and permanent arms embargo on Israel and to stop all imperialist wars by cutting off all weapons and tech. My campaign is also fighting to shut down ICE and the detention centers and for a new party for the working class. We are fighting for free healthcare for all funded by taxing the rich and we are fighting to bring down Trump, the billionaires, and both their parties.

Kshama is the model to follow! Uncompromised conviction, grassroots funded. Supporting the end of capitalism and dismantling of the duopoly. We need many more Kshama’s!
I am proud to endorse my fellow independent candidate Andre Easton @AndreEastonBX, who is also running for Congress this year.
Like my campaign, Andre is clearly opposing the apartheid state of Israel, campaigning to end the genocide in Gaza, and calling for an end to all military aid to Israel. He is calling for universal public healthcare and taxes on the rich.
Most importantly, he is running independent of the two most powerful parties of global capitalism: the warmongering billionaire-backed Democratic and Republican parties.
Andre is on the ballot for the November election in New York’s 15th Congressional District, in the Bronx. He is a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and is running openly and clearly as a socialist.
His campaign is highlighting the fact that working people in the Bronx have been impoverished under the Democratic Party.
His principal opponent is vile, warmongering incumbent Democrat Ritchie Torres, who has received $2.6 million from AIPAC and other pro-Israel PACs and affiliated donors throughout his five-year career. Torres has been an unwavering cheerleader for Israel's ongoing genocide in Palestine. Like my opponent, incumbent genocidal Democrat Adam Smith, Torres has voted for tens of billions of dollars for the genocide in Gaza and to ban United Nations food aid to the Palestinian people.
Andre is calling for full legal status for all undocumented immigrants, for taxes on the rich, and for housing built for people’s needs, not corporate profit.
Donald Trump was elected and then re-elected because of the historic betrayals by the Democratic Party, and their refusal to do anything in support of the American working class.
Under Presidents Clinton, Obama, and Biden, and with majorities in the U.S. House and Senate, the Democratic Party has overseen a devastating cost-of-living crisis, dismantled social programs, launched military assaults against several nations, funded a genocide, and ensured the blocking of universal healthcare and refused to allow even a strong public option for healthcare.
Rebuilding a militant labor movement is crucial, as is building a new party for the working class. These two tasks go together. Running independent socialist campaigns, rooted in the working class, is a necessary step forward. Andre’s campaign, alongside mine, point toward what is urgently needed: a new mass party of the working class prepared to go to war against the billionaires and their political servants.
The vote passing the new trillion-dollar war spending bill (NDAA) shows that both the Democratic and Republican parties represent the war profiteering billionaires and multimillionaires.
Adam Smith, arch Zionist and warmonger for thirty years, voted No ONLY because my antiwar campaign is gaining momentum in this primary election and its got him scared and nervous.
Smith literally cosponsored this bill! Our campaign is making him so anxious in this primary election. Imagine how much impact we could have if we are able to advance to the November general election! Help us GET OUT THE VOTE!
But let's also not forget that the Democratic Party, as a representative of U.S. capitalism, is very adept at playing the the Rotating Villain game of trying to protect its politicians when they face tough elections.
Working people and the antiwar movement cannot afford to fall for this charade. Just in June, Adam Smith took over $51,000 from AIPAC and other Zionist groups. He remains a committed Zionist. Let's throw Adam Smith out.

"WE ARE AGAINST THIS ILLEGAL WAR!"
Today in Congress, activists disrupted War Secretary Pete Hegseth's testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee.
After killing or injuring over 35,000 Iranian civilians, Hegseth is asking Congress for a $1.5 trillion war budget.
Krystal Ball:
You just had genocidal arch-Zionist Adam Smith on your show.
I appreciate that Smith was clearly squirming at several points in the interview over his despicable record and close ties to AIPAC. However, the question still needs to be asked: How does it serve the cause of Palestinian liberation for you to platform Adam Smith, and to not even mention that there is an antiwar socialist challenger to him? And that, too, someone running the strongest challenge to Smith in his 29-year career and who has won FOUR Seattle City Council elections as an independent socialist?
We are just two weeks away from the August 4th primary election, and ballots have been mailed out already.
You still have a chance to feature our independent socialist anti-genocide campaign on your program. My campaign is fighting to end all military aid to Israel and for a permanent arms embargo on Israel. I have a long track record of opposing the Israeli state and the brutal occupations of Palestinian lands, as well as winning historic victories for working people like the nation’s highest minimum wage.
Many of your viewers who support our campaign have asked for you to have me on your show. A lot of commenters on this episode are also asking.
While Smith comes off horribly in this interview, it is a fundamental disservice to the cause of defeating AIPAC and U.S. imperialism to not let people who are disgusted by Smith know that they have an actual alternative in this election, and a chance to drive this blood-drenched politician out of office.
You call this recent episode with Smith a “heated” debate. But while you did ask him some difficult questions, this poses no actual threat to him so long as you continue to ignore his socialist opponent, who has raised more than three times as much money (over $690,000) as any of his previous progressive challengers. Adam Smith has taken tens of thousands of dollars just in the recent weeks from Zionist lobby groups and from war profiteers. He just COSPONSORED the June bill for a trillion dollars for war and to fuse the U.S. and Israeli militaries. There's nothing ambiguous here, and you owe it to working people and the antiwar movement to give our socialist campaign a hearing.
@BreakingPointsN@krystalball
I'm running as an independent socialist for WA state's 9th Congressional District against genocidal Democrat Adam Smith.
Our campaign is honored to receive the endorsement of Reverend Dr. Robert Jeffrey Sr., longstanding civil rights activist and pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in the Central District in Seattle. Reverend Jeffrey has been a key fighter in the struggles to win many of the victories of my decade on the Seattle City Council, from the Amazon Tax for affordable housing to landmark renters’ rights protections.
“Kshama has always during her political career stood for economic and social justice for all who have been left out and locked out in our city and state; it is for this reason that I wholeheartedly endorse her campaign.”
Ballots are out now! Join Reverend Jeffrey and thousands of working people around the country who’ve donated or signed up to volunteer to help defeat AIPAC and the billionaires! VOTE BY AUGUST 4th.
@brian_armstrong We have half a million people living on the streets. The 1% own more wealth than the bottom 90%. The middle class is disappearing. Everything is owned by huge corporations that also own the regulatory agencies.
She survived the corporate recall. Now she's coming for Congress.
In 2021, Kshama Sawant beat a billionaire-backed recall attempt. Big business spent millions to remove her. They failed.
Now she's running for U.S. Congress in Washington's 9th District as an independent socialist.
The establishment fears her. Working people need her.
From beating billionaires to taking on the war machine. The story continues.
