When we got the footage last night of a big old mamma dog with a large growth on her stomach we knew we needed to drop everything and get her in.

🐶 We know she has been used for breeding dogs her whole life. She was living under a house.

🦷 She was a little reactive and showing her teeth. This is a dog who doesn’t have much trust in humans. I know under it all she is gentle as can be but we have to handle her with extreme care.

🥺 We believe she is in some pain and discomfort from the large growth on her stomach. We think we got her just in time as it could become critical soon.

🏥 We brought her straight into our hospital @wearehappydoggo and she has been getting tests and treatments all day. We will have a full diagnosis from lab reports asap.

I called her Nina Simone. Who knows what the future holds as her health battle has just started today. What I do know is that I’m very very happy we have her and can hopefully help her and show her a life of love and safety. The last time I saw a stomach like that it was Tina’s. I can tell she’s had a tough life.

This situation stayed heavy on our hearts for days.

A mother crow had been caught in an illegal leg trap, and her leg was badly injured. Letting her go like that would have meant certain death. We could tell she had been caring for babies recently, but we had no idea where they were.

For several days, animal control officers searched everywhere for her chicks, but they couldn’t find them.
At the same time, we were looking after a baby crow that had been orphaned in a completely different area. Holding onto a small hope, we decided to bring the two together.
As soon as the injured mother saw the baby, she walked straight to him. She gently held him with her beak, pulled him close, and then placed herself in front of him, protecting him from the people watching. She was a mother who had lost her babies, and he was a baby who had lost his mother.

The very next day, against all expectations, her babies were finally found.

She raised the orphan along with her own chicks at the rescue while her leg healed. When the time came, they were all released together—one large, happy family.

This will always be one of our most cherished rescue stories.

💔 Some rescues just break your heart.
With so many new arrivals coming in today, we want to take a moment to tell you about this little girl.
She has lived in a loving home and is so, so loved by her mum. Sadly, extremely unfortunate circumstances mean she now has to leave the life she knows behind. 💔
Please don’t ask for details or make assumptions. This is a very personal situation, and it isn’t our place to discuss it publicly. We simply want to focus on this little girl and helping her find a new beginning.
She will be coming into the care of Galgos del Sol. Imagine going from a loving home to suddenly finding yourself in a kennel. It’s heartbreaking. 😢
She is a little Podenco, around three years old and weighing approximately 8 kg.
When she arrives, we’ll share videos so you can get to know her and help us find her a new home.

At first, he just stopped eating. No one noticed. On the street, no one really notices such cats. He lived near old garages, slept under the car, hid from the rain in the cracks between the concrete slabs and learned to wait for something edible to remain near the garbage cans.

To the father at the farmers market who pointed at my Rottweiler today and told his little boy, “Stay back. Those dogs can turn on you.” You saw her size. You saw the heavy scar across her face. But you didn’t see the lives she saved. Her name is Sadie, and she spent six long years working beside my husband on an urban search-and-rescue team. She didn’t learn gentleness in a clean backyard; she forged it in the absolute dark of human disasters. When a violent tornado destroyed an elementary school, Sadie crawled beneath shifting, unstable concrete debris. She refused to move, barking until firefighters began digging and found two small children trapped underneath. Both were still alive because she refused to give up on them. Years later, an apartment building collapsed after a gas explosion. Shattered glass cut Sadie’s face as she searched through the burning wreckage, but she kept working through the pain until she located an elderly woman buried beneath a staircase. That scar you noticed on her muzzle today wasn’t left by a vicious fight. It is the permanent mark of her devotion to us. She is retired now. Her joints are slower, and her face is graying, but her protective soul remains absolute. I don’t know how many more seasons I’ll have with her, but I know she spent her entire life protecting strangers who will never know her name. We don’t need a flawless appearance to be worthy of love. Sometimes, the most beautiful hearts carry the deepest scars. We're assisting the family of CJ to help him find a new home after his owner sadly passed away.
CJ is a 6.5 year old Lab cross Husky, he is very friendly, although slightly confused at the moment as he is missing his female owner.
CJ is house trained and walks well on the lead. He is neutered and registered with a vets.
We don't have a lot of information sadly.
He is eating dry food.
CJ is a calm dog. He hasn't lived with other animals,
When he has been out and about for walks he hasn't had any issues with other pets or children.
As we don't know how he is with young kids, we'd suggest a home with older kids of a teenage age instead.

🗑️ He was living in trash and at rock bottom

🪱 The flies had got at his old wounds which had caused very serious heart worm

🐕 He was so small he couldn’t defend himself against bigger dogs

🤒 He had so many things wrong with him that he was so drained and anemic. He wouldn’t have lasted much longer on the streets.

Of course we had to call him Rod Stewart with that spiky hairstyle. It turns out he is the gentlest little sweet heart ever.

Now that he is fully better he is getting ready for his big trip to his forever home In Ireland 🇮🇪.

Just look at the fluffiness on him and his sheer joy in being alive. Some man Rod, some man!

Just under a year old he’s struggling in kennels because he wants to keep busy and do things.
We do our best but with hundreds of dogs time is often limited.

Fresa is eight years old and desperately needs a home. 💔
She’s a shy, gentle girl who has sadly been overlooked because she has leishmania.
Several people have asked about her, but once they learn about her leishmania, they’ve decided not to adopt her.
The truth is that adopting a dog in Spain always comes with some risks, and leishmania shouldn’t mean that Fresa is denied the loving home she deserves.
Fresa is coping okay in kennels, but she isn’t thriving, and we truly believe she will blossom in a home where she feels safe, loved and secure. ❤️
As always, we support our adopted dogs with leishmania treatment when necessary.
