@martin_mcneil@TorontoStar Exactly. Asked Google Gemini- the overall operational cost of a farm like this is $35,000. It makes no sense for this to be a “hobby” farm. Farms like these should be inspected frequently and more thoroughly.
@Blair9317@LisaPetsinis@CP24 I’m in Toronto and I think we have gotten at minimum 40cm today with more to come. You are probably outside the lake effect snow area this time. It happens…
@CityNewsTO It is a very popular restaurant that is always busy. It is closing due to more condo construction and redevelopment at Yonge and Eglinton. I sincerely hope they are able to find another location in midtown to open in. Lots of people will definitely miss it!
The @nationalpost (where I worked twenty+ years ago at the weekly Saturday Night magazine) gave me a lot of space to write about what it's been like living across the street from a safe injection site where an innocent mother was murdered.

@torontobruv@CP24 Not true. They tried to get into the US illegally twice, missed their Refugee hearings, changed names, etc. Their goal wasn’t Canada, but the US. Canada would have probably accepted them if they did things by the rules. There are many details omitted in these news stories.
@CTVToronto The reality is this family had multiple opportunities to stay in Canada, but both times they ran for the border to move to the US. Does not seem like someone who really wants to stay here. The facts don’t support the “out of options” narrative. Tragic, but hard to dismiss facts.
@SenMarcoRubio The science supports permanent standard time as closer to our natural clocks. Everyone is tired of this clock switching but let’s just agree to keep on standard time and no one switch in March. 🤫
@nationalpost@sarkonakj Given that this is a shop class teacher, wearing a prosthetic of that size is a safety issue. If this teacher bumps into a student, someone could lose a finger or worse. This inappropriate attire for that type of class. We would not want a gym teacher teaching in stiletto heels.
@DGBassani Ridiculous assignment. During their grade 7 year, every assignment my child had was about genocide, abuse, war, racism, sexism, discrimination, and doomsday prophecies. It was just too much. Then we wonder why kids struggle with depression and anxiety…
Just because a student does not raise their hand, does not mean that they are not thinking deeply about the content. We need to broaden what we mean by engagement in our classrooms/schools. This will invite/value more students in the learning process.
The mysterious #hepatitis in children has now spread to 11 countries (including USA), causing acute liver disease in 169 kids aged 1 mo to 16 yrs. All known viral hep viruses are ruled out, as is #COVID19. Adenovirus41 is suspected, but @WHO says it doesn't fit clinical picture.
@gmuy2 @tdsb@shelleylaskin 100% agree. The daily numbers of students sick with COVID are staggering. The TDSB needs to implement masking ASAP. As someone recovering from surgery, I am very concerned about my kids returning to school (after surgical quarantine). I’m not ready to battle COVID.
@dash_30_dash Hope you feel better soon, Steph! I’m also quite worried about this lack of masking and rapid spread. Particularly concerning as I have a scheduled surgery in a week. Seems that PCR tests (and RATs) don’t pick up the BA2 variant as well.
@imgrund I’ve had a surgery rescheduled twice now due to COVID numbers. New date set for April, but I’m very concerned. In the absence of masking, it will be impossible to stay COVID free for surgery. With so many of us waiting months/years for surgeries, unmasking will cause more delays
I've been brought to tears a few times in this pandemic.
Happened again - but in a happy way today: nearly all the kids at school were wearing their masks.
No trucks, horns, or flags. Just parents who care about community & child safety, and aren't fooled by #drfordmoore.
private schools already have far lower risk for covid spread.
demanding public schools lift their mask mandates while private schools can keep theirs will only widen the divide we have felt all the way thru.
this is truly a tale of two pandemics.
