Every Canadian should have a legal right to a family doctor and primary health care, in the same way that every Canadian child has a right to an education, says @JanePhilpott, author of the new book "Health For All." Q+A by @mattgallowaycbc https://t.co/v6JHJixuP9 via @cbcnews
"40 years after the Canada health act found its place in our history we are more than ready for the next act. That act should move us from an inefficient assortment of centres of excellence to a coordinated approach with guaranteed access to primary care."
Thanks @janephilpott!
Family doctors are increasingly considering leaving their practices. Underfunding of OHIP fees, complicated by rising inflation pressures has made family practice unsustainable.
Everyone in Ontario deserves access to a family doctor.

Family doctors spend 19 hours every week on administrative tasks. CFIB says if Ontario reduced unnecessary administrative tasks by 20%, it would make room for +4 million patient visits per year. That’s like adding 2,615 new family doctors into the system.
We honour and celebrate the essential role doctors play in caring for their patients and community. Thank you for your commitment, sacrifice and hard work. #DoctorsDay#NationalPhysiciansDay
