@drmsgandhi@OntariosDoctors have been engaged on this issue since the very beginning and have been supporting Dr. Ma through this entire process. We have also been working closely with @CMPAMembers and have ensured that the OMA provided testimony on behalf of Dr. Ma during this hearing.
#SFU’s medical school is moving forward! We are closer to training more family doctors with today’s announcement of an interim space at the Surrey campus, funding, a three-year curriculum model and a founding dean.

Fun fact: nearly every person in Denmark 🇩🇰 has the name of their GP (or group of GPs) on their healthcard
It's an organized system where 98+% have access to primary care.
How do they do it? One key lies in how GPs are organized. 🧵

I think elements of this training pathway are part of the reason why general practice is highly respected in 🇩🇰 and paid as well as other specialties. Relative pay and respect influence recruitment and retention of GPs—something we need to do better at in 🇨🇦
Total health spending in Denmark 🇩🇰 is similar to Canada 🇨🇦, yet almost everyone in Denmark has access to primary care
I'm here on a 9-day tour to learn how they make it work
Today I met with Morten Petersen, CEO of https://t.co/TlGgqy5emW, the Danish e-health platform 🧵
For the first time since Ontario became a province, Sol Mamakwa @solmamakwa, MPP of Kiiwetinoong, addressed the Government of Ontario, a signatory to Treaty 9, in his language Anishininiimowin. Sol is an Indian Residential School Survivor. He used to be punished for speaking his language, for being himself.
Today, he spoke Anishininiimowin in a packed House, witnessed by First Nations leaders, family, and, most importantly, his Mom, Kezia Mamakwa. It is her birthday today. Mino-dibishkam, Kezia. Your son is moving hearts and minds. (Photo by @NANComms)
Huge congratulations to @DrShazmaMithani!
🙏for spreading info & countering misinformation on the world’s in-hospital & out-of-hospital emergencies. 3 cheers to your work & to the lifetime of advocacy that has now walked @alandrummond2’s name onto your résumé 😊 @CAEP_Docs

Thank you @MaritStiles and @NickelBelt for meeting with @OntariosDoctors. Great discussions about the need for increased funding for team-based care and the growing administrative burdens for doctors. #Onhealth
Access matters.
But as a credit care feature?
We need to re-focus on #equitable access to primary care for all Canadians.
Quite literally, the future health of Canadians - and Canada - depends on it.
Huge congrats to you @UofTFamilyMed! This is terrific news! Your work, your leadership and partnership w/ @OntarioCollege to support family doctors through shared CPD the past few years has been remarkable. You have inspired many to join our ranks in FM! Hooray!
