@andymalbouef I like your take on it. I was overwhelmed with the changes needed but I think the idea of taking some ideas is good. I took one of your desmos classes last summer and combined with these ideas has me really thinking about how to change my classroom, even after 20 years!

Some days I question my choice to teach high school and then some days make it all worth it! I was honored to wear this student’s jersey today! This great kid picked me and it meant so much!

@TypeAMathLand They then find that they all same triangle and thus SSS works. I use milkshake straws that came in 3 colors. I also made angles with paper clips wrapped in pipe cleaners that were opened to about the same degree to show SAS and ASA.

@TypeAMathLand It takes some work and I’m not sure if this is what you mean but I hand each student precut straws and a piece of string. Every student has the same length straws and all I tell them is to string the straws to make a triangle. They then compare with a neighbor.
