@maddy25e When I hit these, I schedule time off. Whole morning to myself. Whatever I want to do. Sleep, gym, good food, time with my dog. Do my best to avoid screens. Once my scheduled time is ending, I’ll go watch some of my favorite motivational “hustle” videos to hype me up 😂

In summary, I’ve very much enjoyed this rotation. I’m very thankful for a preceptor that takes the time to prioritize my specific educational/career needs. It’s been rejuvenating, and has introduced me to a way of teaching that i hope to mimic one day when I’m in his shoes.

And no, I’m not saying if you want to do ortho you should spend your whole IM rotation on trauma. But if a student is on gen surg and KNOWS they want to be a psychiatrist, what value are they getting for their time scrubbing in for their 9th lap chole in 4 days?
