@cardigan_mess Sure, canon Thrawn is more of an anti-villain, at least when compared to most of his antagonists in both trilogies. He has other goals, that Dave will ignore (Ascendancy & Grysks), which will be annoying. But that's something Zahn can fix in a future novel, hopefully.

@cardigan_mess Especially with how the New Republic is written in canon. With the fleet decommissioned and senators like Xiono, It makes sense that Thrawn would reject it and seek to restore "Order". He's still a fascist who'll gladly genocide to achieve his goals.
