@cg__1k @ScoutingTheRefs@ESPNRefNHL Because it was 4 on 4. No one leave when a goal is scored when it’s even strength. Doesn’t matter if penalties were taken at different times.
It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we must let everyone know that our strong husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, James Sharun has lost his battle to pancreatic cancer (1/2)
@BayrackRyan@chuter87@lukegazdic This wasn’t the play in the question, but here’s the rule where it says contact with the goalie outside the crease is in fact, a penalty.
🥇 Congratulations to Mark Pearce, who will referee today’s World Junior Championship gold medal game between Sweden and the USA!
🥇 Félicitations à Mark Pearce, qui arbitrera le finale d'or du championnat mondial junior entre la Suède et les États-Unis !
@Corby1959@TimCPeel20@MarcMethot3 Hi Thomas, if you were on the ice officiating at the World Juniors, at that speed, your biggest issue would be to not shit your pants because I guarantee you would. You’d be off the ice before that hit even happened changing your diaper.
Detroit Red Wings:
— Dylan Larkin (1st in NHL scoring)
— Alex DeBrincat (1st in NHL scoring + goals)
— Justin Holl (+8, first in NHL in +/-)
— 5 Wins (t-2nd in NHL)
— 45% powerplay (1st in NHL)
— Only game they lost was to New Jersey
So uh... how about those Red Wings?
@Stevenbradleyb@JonathanWillis This was a normal backhand. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a shot on net or a clearing attempt.

Here’s the NHL rule book. Page 91. Let me know if it says high sticking the opponent on a clearing attempt follow through is a penalty.
@Stevenbradleyb@JonathanWillis Maybe you’re a better visual learner. As you can see in the video, the Vegas player back hands the puck (a back hand is a type of shot in hockey) and on the follow through, he hits Ekholm.
@Stevenbradleyb@JonathanWillis Accidental contact is allowed on a player if it’s committed through a normal wind up or follow through of a shooting motion. This is exactly what happened to Ekholm, blood or not, no penalty.
