@ScooterMcNeice Not saying you are wrong but I think maybe some of the perception comes from the reliance on much more precise skills for modern game plans. There has been a huge focus shift from trusting your teammates to win a contest down the line.
@terrypunter5@essendonfc Yep problem is responding with a win once every now and then can help fight the media negativity symptoms but the systematic problems with the clubs inability to produce consistent efforts and results remains. Prove it consistently. Happy for the win though
@Peter_Fitz As a Melbourne person, it’s always amused me that the most consistent successful club in AFL since 2000 is Sydney and in the NRL it’s in the Melbourne Storm. Both codes at each other but the best club for each based in each other’s heartland
@ToddJDavey I think the decision is correct however the AFL are to blame as they refuse to make umpires enforce the rule in all parts of the ground. Players kicking out, run almost to the 50 without penalty every game.
@ScooterMcNeice You create your own luck. You defend like hell for 4qtrs and the other team only manages 5points and you have 1 forward thrust and kick a goal. You defended better and were more effective in attack and you win. Do it 25 times they might call you lucky but also premiers.
@bryce_parker26 So playing traditional midsize backman Kelly on a deep small mid fwd worked?! Maybe playing him on a wing in a tagging role isn’t the best use of his skill set. 🙄
Has been one of the more frustrating aspects of EFC setup this year and last year.
@ScooterMcNeice Stringer’s defence is underrated. He ran and chased super hard. Put pressure on Saints runners and is so strong was holding tackles we are used to seeing Bombers fall off especially in recent seasons.
@terrypunter5@essendonfc Unless the list build theory of recruiting random players from EDFL mixed with AFL reserves changes no coach can have success. Recruiting actual proven talent to support the young players has been severely lacking in recent years.
@AFLisnotasport I’m a proud Victorian, but every time they refer to great players as AFL greats whose careers never or barely touched the VFL/AFL is the worst. Disrespectful to the state leagues which were close to or on par with the VFL until the last 30ish years.
@ToddJDavey Tayte Pears and Peter Cransberg package deal. I’m happy to also send them Kepler Bradley again just for completeness although I’ll actually start a war if the name Darren Bewick is mentioned
@ScooterMcNeice@FionaRoseT Very encouraging similar to 4th v tigers. If only we can improve 10% on the transition defence for the opponent we probably win V port home and away. Prob also in the mix for pies saints and cats don’t end the game in the first.
