A whole lot of TDS in the comments. I wonder what type of celebrations would be taking place under a Kamala administration to commemorate our nation’s 250th birthday. Would the guilt and shame temper even the acknowledgment of the significance? I see some renewed patriotism, but a majority politically driven with most (not all, but a majority) on the right side. This saddens me as a citizen and veteran to see so many rooting for America to fail just to make the current President look bad and discourage his supporters who are rooting for “America” to succeed. Even your post Joe…although seemingly aims to be apolitical, has a political slant.
Having a goal is so incredibly important for the mental game to continue the hard work. My daughter has watched me slip slowly out of shape over the last several years with poor workout and nutritional habits…now she is a college freshman who experienced a traumatic surgery 14 months ago and asked me to compete in a half Ironman this summer (her first, over 12 years since my last). Not so much the race, but the inspiration from my daughter is changing my life for the better…I’m never going back to those poor habits!
Congratulations on your journey back - looking forward to your hand being raised tomorrow night!!
I won some, lost some (more than I won), but it meant a lot to my folks that I tried to reward them with the appropriate award for their contributions.
One battle I won as a Captain post-deployment stands out…submitted my retiring 1SG for an LOM which my chain of command endorsed. Made it to G1 and they returned stating a policy for enlisted that it had to be a E9 over 24 years for an LOM, told me to resubmit as MSM. I asked for the policy which they couldn’t produce, then asked for an office call with the Corps CG, LTG Dubik, to plead my case. My 1SG retired with an LOM.
@Ric_RTP Interesting fiction…I thought he was on to something until he started on the third term. No way in hell is that happening unless Trump figures out a way using AI to discover a cure for aging. Come on Doc.
@PNWConservative@joekent16jan19 PNW - Not sure why folks are beating you up…Joe is a fellow vet with a distinguished military career and less than stellar political career…despite both, something doesn’t smell right with Joe. Different from Dan C, but still doesn’t smell right.
Agree to disagree. Beyond the nuclear issue which previous administrations thought they delayed, what about the drone’s development and sales to Russia as well as the destabilization throughout the region to incident the blood of Americans on their hands…do you think it was heading in a good or bad direction since Obama was in office?
@its_The_Dr Guy that says it was painted in 1984 is wrong…
”The Song of the Lark is an 1884 oil on canvas painting by French naturalist artist Jules Breton.”
