With a red heat alert issued for Wednesday and Thursday, people may be tempted to get into the water 🌊
Make sure you know what to do if you see someone struggling:
📞 Phone 999
🗣️ Tell them to float on their back
🛟 Throw them something that floats
Rivers can contain hidden hazards as well as dangerous flows and undercurrents, particularly in and around structures such as weirs, locks and flood channels.
Vigilance saves lives and water-related accidents
can be avoided by knowing how to stay safe and #RespectTheWater.
With the #HotWeather forecast, #livestockkeepers must ensure the health & welfare of animals being transported. This includes:
• providing fresh water
• not moving animals in temperatures over 30 degrees
• maximising ventilation by moving fewer animals

High temperatures are forecast this week, and you may be looking for somewhere to cool off. But weirs, locks, bridges and flood channels have dangerous flows, undercurrents and hidden hazards
Take notice and follow all riverside signage and warnings #RespectTheWater#FloatToLive
Extreme heat warnings in place. Know how to stay safe in and around water.
Spot someone in trouble? Don’t go in, throw something that floats.
Know the Water Safety Code: Stop & think. Stay together. Call 999. Float.

From this weekend, the UK will see temperatures increase dramatically.
With #DrowningPreventionWeek in mind, it’s important to consider your safety around water.

It’s not always as warm in the water as it is on land.
The water in rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water can be much colder than expected, so always check water temperatures before going in.
If you do get into difficulties while in the water, remember #FloatToLive.

If you're going to the river:
• Take notice & follow all riverside signage & warnings signalling dangers and hazards – they're there to keep you safe
• If paddling; wear a life jacket, carry a phone, tell others where you are going and always paddle within your ability.
Rivers are great places to have fun, get close to nature and spend time with friends and family, but vigilance saves lives and water-related accidents can be avoided by knowing how to stay safe and

1st time on board a Rotor ship. This ship is designed to use the Magnus effect for propulsion. The ship is propelled, at least in part, by large powered vertical rotors, sometimes known as rotor sails.
A big thank you to @LeeValleyWWC & WRS International for hosting a fantastic day's training. Excellent training facilities and the use of WRS International water rescue equipment and PPE #alwayslearning
