So wait…
A border guard…
…in a state that has no border…
…in a town with no international airport…
…and a harbour that handles mainly aluminium and timber exports…
…which handles so few cargo containers it has just a single Liebherr LHM 420 mobile container crane…
…in a city that doesn’t even handle its own international parcel screening…
…which is not even a legal port of entry for international sailors on yachts…
…is concerned about drug and cash workforce cuts…
…driven by voluntary redundancies that the border guard’s colleagues applied to take…
…and only a fraction of which (~25%) were approved…
…amidst Border Force reporting record hauls of drugs, cash, and illicit tobacco…
…and during record departmental spending…
…the kind of spending Hughesy normally complains about?
Fucks sake, Hughesy. If you can’t test the claim, at least pick a lane.
Right so as a former Swans board member, an AFL Commissioner and been one of the highest profile members of the club way before she was GG, I think Sam Mostyn is well within her rights to express an opinion. Move on AFR.
Look at the @FinancialReview telling Sam Mostyn to shut up despite her being a past Sydney Swans board member, one-time AFL Commissioner, a football lover and a woman.
She has more skin in the conversation around the sexual assault and other activities connected to the Swans players this week, than the Australian Financial Review!
Trump to a just 10-year-old boy who was saved by a 16-year-old lifeguard.
“I probably wouldn't have jumped into the water to rescue you. You’re lucky I wasn't on duty.”
Their facial expressions don’t lie. What a messed up thing to say.
In 2020, 13-year-old Callum Manning from South Shields, England, created an Instagram account for one simple reason. He loved books and wanted somewhere to share his reviews.
At the time, the page had around 50 followers.
Then some students at his new school found it.
Instead of encouraging him, they created a group chat and mocked him for reading, calling him names like “creep” and “sad weirdo.” Callum was added to the chat and had to watch the messages appear himself.
It hurt more than he expected. He later said it was the first time in a long while that he had actually cried.
His 24-year-old sister, Ellis, decided to do something. She shared what had happened online, hoping maybe 20 or 30 of her friends would follow Callum and leave a few kind comments.
That wasn't what happened.
Within days, Callum went from around 50 followers to hundreds of thousands.
Authors including Neil Gaiman, Malorie Blackman, Matt Haig and Caroline Kepnes reached out. Publishers offered him books. Waterstones encouraged him to keep reviewing and offered him a free book when he next visited.
And Callum kept reading.
The account that classmates had mocked became the place where hundreds of thousands of people came to hear what a 13-year-old thought about the books he loved.
His sister had only wanted a few people to remind him that there was nothing embarrassing about loving books.
She found an entire community waiting to tell him the same thing.
The vile, sexist, misogynistic & threatening commentary from men on social media re the women who have complained about alleged sexual assault by the Swans players is utterly terrifying. I wonder if anyone in Govt or law enforcement (eg AFP) will investigate. #AFL#Swans#VAW
There has been no 'slashing' of border protection staff at airports.
The last cuts to staff were in 2018 when budget cuts forced a reduction in hours for casual staff.
Who was in power in 2018, @DHughesy?🤔

If you are going to use a burner account, to send me very visual and vivid death threats, such as an account did on Instagram saying they wanted to shoot me in the head, because I’m a woman working in the oilfield. Make sure you’re really good at hiding your identity, Brent Thompson. Because you look like thumb, a beta cuck who licks and kisses the tip of a hot dog before taking a bite. Now you know I found your address and phone number because I called you. You seemed really scared when I found out who you were yet you had so much to say on my Instagram. Tell me why you deleted all your accounts? Brent Thompson
@MelJStride Cat check: The National debt increased by £1,570,000,000,000 (£1.57 trillion) under the Conservative government from 2010 to 2024 - an average of more than £112 billion each year. Stride was part of that government.
Remember, when you see performative MAGA Cabinet Secretary Shawn Duffy talk about Harvard corrupting young women...
He literally wagged his bare ass out a hotel room window on national TV while holding a small hand towel over his little penis & balls.
Just more GOP Hypocrisy!

The evidence is insurmountable. Donald trump raped children. You know it. I know it. The whole goddamn world knows it. And not only has that sick fuck not been held accountable, he gets to continue to be president. If that doesn’t make your blood boil, the fuck is wrong with you.
