Can intuitive sizing and a flexible design change how you approach challenging embolization cases? Drs. Kavi Krishnasamy, Brian Funaki, Alex Villalobos, and Nima Kokabi discuss real-world cases as well as a new vascular plug device with intuitive sizing and tight braid design. The discussed Lobo device is chosen in certain cases for tortuous vessels and for a tailored fit to help prevent migration, even in high-flow environments.

Stuck between a rock & a hard place when it comes to brain calcifications?!
Calcification pattern is key to rocking the diagnosis!
Here's a quick guide to the most common entities associated w/different patterns
For the three most common patterns, I remember what you do when ROCK music plays:
I HeaR = Infection & Hematoma give a Rock pattern
I GYRate = Infarct give a GYRiform
And finally...
I Dab = Infection gives tiny Dabs or Dots everywhere
For the rest:
If they are grouped: think tumor or vascular
If they are diffusion: think metabolic
If they are along the ventricle: think TORCH
Now hopefully you can rock & roll when it comes to the diagnoses for intracranial calcifications!
💊Early DOAC initiation is safe and non-inferior to delayed treatment regardless of infarct volume
❌⏱️No evidence that anticoagulation initiation should be delayed beyond 4 days on the basis of infarct size

Among patients with stroke due to medium-vessel occlusion, thrombectomy led to functional independence at 90 days (in 58.6% of patients, vs. 46.6% with medical management) but also to a higher risk of intracranial hemorrhage. Full ORIENTAL-MeVO trial results: https://t.co/FvyLPQz4CV

Like Dr. Rahul Sheth mentioned, a bridge with communication between IRs and Medical Oncologists needs to exist in order to foster a positive patient experience. How do physicians coordinate drug treatments like RP1 into their care plans? In this short, Dr. Sheth is joined by co-guest Dr. Jennifer McQuade and host Dr. Tyler Sandow, to talk more about coordinating guided imaging with lesion injections to get the ultimate results. They dive deeper into the process of drug injections - focusing on confounding factors like amount of injections per lesion.

💊🧠 Can prasugrel-based single antiplatelet therapy offer a simpler option for distal aneurysm flow diversion?
In this multicenter real-world study, SAPT showed comparable angiographic occlusion to DAPT after treatment with the p48 MW HPC flow diverter, without a significant increase in thromboembolic or ischemic events. Hemorrhagic complications were seen only in the DAPT group, supporting continued interest in tailored antiplatelet strategies for selected patients. @AlexanderSirak1@SirakovStanimir@AbdallahAb48757

What should an IR physician do when you need to embolize one artery, but the origin has multiple branches? This was a challenge for Dr. Rajasekhara Ayyagari during one of his cases. In this clip, Dr. Ayyagari provides images taken during this case to visualize his thought process. For this case, he utilized protective coils, further explaining their benefits to direct embolics to target areas.
