@VoteGloriaJ The karst topography (limestone bedrock) we have makes this very tricky to get right. The borehole can cause the limestone to dissolve more than it normally would and lead to sinkholes, etc.
@brotherjones_ as a soil scientist, I am very concerned about the news that there are plans to build a tunnel under Nashville to the airport. We have a karst topography, meaning a lot of limestone bedrock, and a large hole will lead to much greater potential for it to dissolve.
Our recent report based on listening sessions for rural practitioners identified a concern for the lack of news information in rural areas.
Now is not the time to remove funding for @NPR and the @CPBmedia as it will specifically affect these rural areas. Contact your senators.
Unfortunately, releasing water now does nothing to help farmers during the wet season in California. They are going to need it in the summer and will have 2 billion gallons less available then.
