Biden promised me a reasonably competent administration run by non-psychopaths and non-sociopaths that would do some things I liked and other things I didn't, and I'd say he has 100% delivered.
@JoeCutrufo@whitmire_john@derekfincham No, he’s not. He was injured as a direct and predictable result of riding against the flow of traffic, which is the fundamental flaw of on-street two-way cycletracks. Had he not been riding southbound on a one-way northbound street, his severe crash never would’ve happened.
@Gail_HPM For a knowledgeable, competent cyclist, every lane is a bike lane, and every street is bicycle infrastructure. Gutter channels are inherently constricting and counterproductive, making safe and lawful bicycle driving more difficult. However, the ped crossing here is nice.
If a gunman in a school is too difficult and dangerous for a typical local police force to handle, the right response is not to condemn local police forces as cowardly. The right response is to discredit the "good guy with a gun" fantasy.
@christofspieler Moreover, a balcony like the one pictured is frequently attached to the primary bedroom, which makes it awkward for group guest access. An alternative layout puts the living room upstairs and attaches the balcony to it, with the bedroom in the back; that’s more party-friendly.
@christofspieler By “porch” do you mean the exterior space visible above the garage in your photo? If so, that’s more accurately described as a balcony. A porch has direct access from the street or yard; a balcony doesn’t. In this architectural style, an open garage functions as a de-facto porch!
@DugBegley Thought experiment: Imagine if Downtown’s network of air-conditioned pedestrian tunnels were expanded all across town. Would that induce Houstonians to ditch their cars and take most daily trips on foot? The presumable cost in cumulative travel time arguably raises doubts.
@contactsplus I see that you’ve “sunsetted” your #macOS app effective today. You suggest removing the app, but merely deleting the app file still leaves cruft in `~/Library`. Please provide a complete uninstaller utility or detailed instructions. Thanks. https://t.co/4AGkh0clGd
@BikeHouston@KPRC2@HoustonPlanning@HouPublicWorks @HoustonBikePlan @EightRowFlint@AgricoleHTX@gratifihouston The details of bikeway policy and implementation are indeed controversial, due in no small part to your blizzard of BS. Your bikeway fetish is totally unrelated to safety, except in the sense that many cyclist injuries & fatalities are in fact *caused* by stupid bikeway designs.
