During important meetings in the UAE today, I also spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu about Iran’s recent attacks and the broader situation in the Middle East. I reaffirmed that Austria is a reliable partner for Israel and shares its security concerns. We also discussed the importance of EU–Israel relations — especially in geopolitically volatile times, when reliable partners matter most. We all agree: lasting peace must be achieved at the negotiating table. (BK)

Croatia is an important regional energy hub and a key partner in reducing Europe’s critical dependencies.
Austria and Croatia are among the strongest advocates of a rapid EU enlargement to the Western Balkans. Accession must remain merit-based, with the same rules applying to all candidates.
