@tonywendice1954 My 8th grade class read Odyssey in the Rouse prose version. 1963. I was already knew classical myth: a family of HS English teachers (old style) will do that to you. I still have my great aunt’s text of Horace. In 8th we had a thorough ancient history course.

@admcrlsn @henryolsenEPPC My g-daughter’s HS roped Bushra, Kat, and Biss (and his hair) into talking to a Am Gov class. Bushra and Biss seemed disengaged, Kat outgoing & friendly. Each tries to out-lefty the others. Winner gets a sinecure. FWIW
