Wow.
I was today years old when I learned from Marc that 32,000 of the “88,000 new jobs” were temporary census workers.
And a huge other chunk, were FIFA and seasonal employment.
What a joke.
I’m back.
The team at X was incredible at helping me regain access to my account. The hackers were promptly dealt with. Gratitude for that to all.
The bad news is that yes, it appears to have been a legitimate hack. The hack occurred after I was reported for posts made referencing June 4th - Tiananmen Square Massacre day. The symbolism isn’t lost on me.
The good news is I see our backup system worked, and most of you burned our chats.
I have asked many of you who are acting as informants to keep your identities hidden for safety - even from me - and this is exactly why. I’m going to ask everyone to refrain from messaging me privately please while I secure those networks.
Thank you all for your support, and your patience while I address this breach. I’m so sorry. I’m devastated over this attack, and it needs to be taken very seriously. It will take time to assess.
And then hopefully, we can get back to work here.
Andy
Boomers be like "This generation is nothing but a bunch of snowflakes who melt over mean words!" then attempt to murder a cripple over the most minor inconvenience possible.
1. CBC - Taxpayer-funded national broadcaster, rated Lean Left by AllSides and Media Bias/Fact Check, with repeated criticism for story selection and framing favoring progressive/Liberal positions.
2. Legacy private media (CTV News, Global News, Toronto Star and similar) - Corporate outlets with overlapping newsroom cultures producing aligned coverage on politics, social issues and policy.
3. Federal government communications arms and related public funding mechanisms - Direct channels pushing official narratives on climate, immigration, identity and other priorities with limited counterbalance.
Media bias is real and measurable; "propaganda" depends on intent and impact. Cross-reference multiple sources.
After TIM HORTONS said they would rely on local recruitment they still posted for temporary foreign workers, AND they still have many jobs open and requested for LMIA 👀
Almost every Canadian I talk to is excited for DUNKIN’ ☕️ Tim Hortons has no chance now
BOOMER: “Nobody wants to work anymore.”
ME: “The warehouse nearby pays $18/hour.”
BOOMER: “That’s decent.”
ME: “Average rent is $2,200.”
BOOMER: “Get a roommate.”
Funny how every solution asks workers to sacrifice more.
Never employers to pay more.
