DUBLIN CITY COUNCILLORS have unanimously agreed to a motion calling for legal gaps around horse drawn carriages to be “dealt with immediately”.
After last weeks awful tragedy, a poor horse collapsed in Dublin City Centre, DCC Councillors had an emergency meeting to discuss.

The emergency motion, brought by Fianna Fáil councillor Deridre Heney, calls on the Transport Minister Eamon Ryan and Minister for Local Government, Housing and Heritage Darragh O’Brien to deal “with the legal lacuna that exists in relation to the non-regulation of Dublin carriage horses”.

MLHR have asked for clear licence plates on every carriage that is allowed operate, this helps @gardainfo An Garda Síochána Dublin, tourists and motorists identify the carriges if an accident or welfare concern. A regular welfare check and carriage road worthy check should also be called for.

This adorable little Land Seal and her big brown eyes are ready to move into a home. She is THE most adorable little ‘Pocket Bully’ who adores EVERYONE she meets and is approx 3-4 yrs old.
Bertha looks just like a small, chunky Staffy and has sadly had her ears cropped at some point.
She has clearly had a terrible life before being found as a stray – she’s been heavily bred from and was in terrible condition when she was found. Thankfully she’s now gained weight nicely and is much happier, but she is very much in need of home comforts and TLC now. Bertha will have some accidents in the home as she isn’t yet fully housetrained, but she does do her best to stay clean in her kennel bless her.
She also isn’t totally used to walking on lead – she sets off well but can get a bit overwhelmed and put the brakes on, so she needs some confidence building with her lead walking bless her, and wouldn’t suit a very active lifestyle.
She needs to be the only pet, as she’s not so keen on other dogs, which is unsurprising given her past. Bertha needs a home where she will get all the sofa snuggles, attention and love that she’s not had before – she needs to learn what life in a loving home is all about and has SO much love to give.' - Helping Yorkshire Poundies Rescue.

Could you foster this poor girl? She is in Dublin County Dog Shelter, suffering with in grown eye lids. The only way we can help is to get her out & under our care so she can have an operation on both eyes.

We have three dogs leaving the vet today with broken legs & we simply don’t have room! We need people to adopt or foster. Let’s all work together and get her out. She needs this operation asap. We will supply everything she needs once in a foster home for her. We need a home with no other dogs until she is assesssed.
