SECRETARY RUBIO: "At the core of this is our industrial strength, but also our national sovereignty — that we never depend on other countries for things we need to prosper and to defend ourselves as a people."
SECRETARY RUBIO: "We all look forward to working not just nationally, but with our allies around the world, to ensure we have supply chains that are diversified, reliable, so no country can ever hold this over our head and threaten us in the future."
Some of the largest investments EVER made in American mining. ⚒️
"Critical minerals are the raw materials of American strength, & power everything from advanced weaponry to automobiles, & we want these essential products to be mined, refined, & made right here in the U.S.A." 🇺🇸

From digital spaces to real-life action, young people at the heart of the Ebola response.
In Kinshasa, the “Du virtuel au réel” initiative brought together engaged young people, influential voices and response actors around one shared goal: making sure the right information on Ebola reaches communities.
Alongside youth leaders and voices including the First Lady of the DRC, her excellency Mrs Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi or the living statue Lumumba Vea, this mobilisation shows that young people are not simply an audience to reach. They are essential actors in the response. Online and in their communities, they help challenge rumours, share trusted information and encourage behaviours that protect.
Through this initiative, Africa CDC is reaffirming the importance of placing young people at the centre of the response by creating space for them to speak up, ask questions, better understand the issues and actively help protect their communities.

Young people are not on the margins of the response. They are one of its driving forces. This mobilisation was supported by the GIZ Office to the African Union.
