42.6 percent of South Africans do not have jobs. 60 percent of young people in South Africa do not have jobs. In some provinces like the North West province, 54.2 percent do not have jobs. The population is growing at a much faster pace than the economy. I don’t care if it’s international practice, but it is Not ok that 28 million of our people are dependent on the state. That number is growing. It is Not ok. Yes it marginally addresses the realities of poverty but it does not serve the state or the people in the long run. People must be independent from the state. Must be able to feed their families, and have autonomy over their lives. The current status quo is not sustainable. The bomb is no longer ticking, it’s just waiting for the right conditions for explosion.
Japanese public support for restarting their reactors has risen to 70%. Article link in reply.
Reasons given are:
Growing awareness of nuclear's ability to help reduce CO2 emissions. (They didn't know that aleady? 😡)
Energy security (energy prices spiked due to the Ukraine war).
Reduced energy cost. Consumers have noticed that power costs are lower in areas that have restarted nuclear plants. Nuclear is the cheapest power source in Japan (in addition to being clean).
What I like about MK is that they don’t hide what they stand for! They hate the constitution, which they regard as founded on Dutch-Roman law. They hate the concept of the rule of law. They demand what they call African Law, which they have not defined so far. All those implicated in corruption are their heroes and heroines. They see nothing wrong with the R500 billion stolen or exposed by the Zondo Commission. Their defence is that there is a bigger stealing by White Monopoly Capital. Accordingly, when they gather, it becomes a who is who of those accused of stealing and dishonesty. They regard the State Capture Commission and all evidence provided as fake news. They hate Chief Justice Zondo and Ramaphosa more than they hate poison because they associate both with the incarceration of their leader by the Constitutional Court. They regard their leader as a supreme leader who should be above the law and not touchable
