Owen gets blamed because he Luke Uncle that stops the fun but when you grow up you see how much he loves Luke. Uncle Owen for Like is like Uncle Ben for Spiderman.
That's not what the PT did. The Jedi want students trained in a certain time frame. Midichlorians just ment if you have a high enough count you can learn the Force in the timw frame the Jedi wanted.
@SongbirdDiamond It’s because the prequels introducing midichrolians, which meant not everyone could be a Jedi like everyone believed, you had to be related to someone. I was happy episode 8 retconned that idea… only to be frustrated when episode 9 retconned it back.
Yes George said everyone could learn the Force but some learn it faster than others and a lot are too impatient to learn it the Jedi way. The Jedi of the PT could for example train Han but Han would have taken way too long to get good.
It always bugged me how they treat this "anyone could be a jedi" thing when like...wasn't that always the way?
Also fucking news outlets went "who is this boy? What importance will he have next film?!" Was so annoying
By the end of TFA, Finn's only motivation is following Rey around
TLJ has him embrace the Rebel cause
His writing is far from perfect but like, let's not rewrite TFA, Finn's character was lacking in it, TLJ at least gives him an arc
Rey is the ultimate extreme in the franchise today. The loudest people thst don't like her make it abjut her gender and then the loudest defenders that rightfully call them out then lump everyone else in that sane bubble.
they claim to hate rey because they think she *checks notes* is "good at stuff" and... people like her?? but what they actually hate is that they believe she is portrayed as being "better than men". she isn't, but for them, this is the greatest sin a woman character can commit.
@millicay95@ViewerAnon@BlackMajikMan90 George had Luke dying in 9 which I feel would have been betrer because the audience would have been betrer prepared. Would have been like Iron Man dying in Endgame where jts sad but it fits.
Rian tried to tell a good message but by Luke not going with Rey they got a lot more people killed in 8 and 9 between where Rian leaves it and where JJ picks it up.
@BlackMajikMan90 Yeah, I hate how the guy dies fully regaining his faith and fights off an entire army without swinging a sword. Truly terrible, he should be ripping Star Destroyers outta the sky.
@YourPalRags Revenge of the Sith was A) good and B) the main event people wanted prequels for in the first place.
TLJ holding 65% of TFA's box office is quite similar to Empire ($550M) retaining 70% of SW's box office ($775M) and AOTC ($645M) retaining 69% of TPM ($924M).
Since George Lucas wasn't involved in the sequels I think its perfectly fine we as fans need to say tou guys can enjoy TLJ Luke and others can enjoy Grandmaster Luke for the EU.
the sequels butchered *your* understanding of Luke as a legend, a person who could do no wrong and couldn’t fail. Luke is human - not some god.
There’s meta-commentary on that in The Last Jedi as well (and it’s quite obvious)
@Jonatha93824272@ArkaifMaiker George had Anakin in his 60's and Obi-Wan in his 70's in Rotj. The orginal timeline then makes Obi-Wan 60 in ANH and Vader 55. Lucas made Anakin you because he wabted us to aee a kid ripped from his mother at a vunruable age. Anakin needed a stronger director and actor is all.
You have to have audiance trust before you take risks. Atar Wars need something to get the excitement back and then you start greenlighting risker projects. A successful episode X and potential Vader project then means they can do thinks like Andor or Dawn of the Jedi.
If the cancellation is true, I wouldn't be surprised, but disappointed.
Star Wars is best when it makes bold decisions, whether they land for me or not.
Ever since The Acolyte cancellation, it has become clear that Disney has commitment issues and has become afraid of backlash.
Force awakens could have worked pretty much the same way if Kylo was Jaina son. It would have taken some freedom away but Legends where we left off could have went into ep7.
Also, Legends being retconned was clearly the right move. They were never ever going to let books and comics dictate how they make their billion dollar movies.
Yeah, I was sad because of the stories never got finished… but it’s not like we had to stop talking about / enjoying them!
Deadites are possessed innocent people, Friday the 13th is about either a grieving parent or a child who was relentlessly bullied. I assume you have the same outrage whenever poor 12-year-old Regan MacNeil shows up at HHN?
The other Nikki became a horror villian because Bear the real villian trapped her in that scenario. She was created from somone forcing their wish on to someone whom is a victim but the other personality was still a horror villian.
Nikki is not a horror villain, she was a victim of SA. this is not a movie that needs to be at halloween horror nights. save it for slasher films or movies with actual Hero/Villain roles like Evil Dead or Friday the 13th as opposed to victim/abuser roles @UniversalORL
