DAY 4 of peaceful strike ( by the Students of Ranchi Veterinary College, Kanke.)
Our demand - raise the stipend of internship from 50rs per day to 15000 per month, equivalent to the other veterinary and medical colleges in the neighbouring states.
Day- 3rd we are on strike (against internship allowance increment from only 50 rs per day to 15000 per month ). Will continue until our demands are met.
So far no assistance with regards has been provided or assured.
@JmmJharkhand @ZeeBiharNews
Veterinary interns are paid only Rs.50/day for 7+hrs of clinics,farm duties,surgeries,zoonotic disease management and rural outreach. We risk our lives to safeguard animal and public health,yet the government ignores our efforts. We deserve fair wages,not token recognition.
This is very unfair. Other states provide a stipend of around ₹15,000, which should be the standard amount across the board. we are receiving only ₹50 per day. We, the veterinarians of Ranchi Veterinary College, will continue our strike until our demands are met!"
