@SaraForTexLege Lower income people vote conservative on principle: “We’re offering more handouts, you should vote your self-interests!”
Lower income people vote conservative so they pay less in taxes: “How dare you vote your self-interests!”
@wobby Completely subjective calling it “unnecessary.” Scheme mismatch on a critical play, try to draw offside toward the end of the half, etc. Many good reasons other than time saving to use a time out. And, glad to see you on the TL, Wobby.
Hey @JamieErdahl. I need you, as a Vikings fan, to pull out the host veto card on any future segments about the worst field goal misses. Hasn’t aired yet and I’m already twitching.
"It offers an opportunity to take those existing programs and sort of supercharge them, so that we can... you know, take over a lot of distressed housing."
"... there’s all sorts of things that organized tenants can do to drive down that market price, especially if, you know, we have strong rent controls."
@phillindquist@mkhammer Even where owners sue to get what they deserve, it costs a lot in litigation to get there. Bottom line is, the original owners take it in the shorts twice. First, having to forcibly sell their property, then getting ripped off on the value.
@phillindquist@mkhammer They are still being forced to sell something they own. In that case, simply because the government thinks it can make more money with someone else. Also, studies consistently show that ED takings significantly undervalue the “fair market.”
@mkhammer I feared the consequences of Kelo. The collective good won over individual ownership. There is precedent now for the city to take property. BTW, you check out lately what happened to the Kelo property after the government took it?
