Yesterday, on a flight from Europe to US, responding to a medical emergency, I placed an iv in an 88 yr old. An EMT co-passenger asked: "you are a neurologist; how come you can place an iv?" My reply: "times have changed buddy. Neurologists are increasingly intervention oriented"
