It's been 45 years and I have only, just now, noticed.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

Today, Codex is better than Claude.

[Cole @colderoshay]

stateful svgs are so hot right now.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

@TheRiceFather @coinweight Totally. Switching to Sonnet for multi-agent and it barely hits the usage unlike Opus.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

Do not give Claude Fable 5.1 a multi-agent task. It'll consume your 5-hour limit in minutes.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

Claude Fable 5.1 burned through my 5-hour limit like crazy.

Three years ago, I paid $99 for a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD with a heatsink for my PS5.

Today, it's $399.

Absolutely wild.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

Three years later, here it is:

iPhone 15 Pro / Switch
CPU: 6-core @ ~3.78GHz / 4-core @ 1.02GHz
GPU: 6-core ~2.15 TFLOPS / 256 CUDA ~0.39 TFLOPS
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5 / 4GB LPDDR4
Bandwidth: 51.2 / 25.6 GB/s
Ray tracing: Hardware / none
Not remotely fair.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

It's not a fair comparison, but I would love to see the spec difference between an Apple iPhone 15 Pro vs the Nintendo Switch.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

Crazy to think that just last year you could buy a Mac Studio with 512GB of unified memory.

Now the max, THE MAX, is 96GB because of the AI-driven global DRAM shortage.

I thought I was on the SSH. Instant surprise when I ran `sudo reboot`

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

If you're not consistently hitting your limit, what are you even doing?

I kind of miss that smell of an older breakfast diner that has a smoking section. It's like the smell of the 1980s.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

My eight year old comes into my office: Where is some fishing line?
Me: What for?
8yo: Stop motion.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

Happy birthday JD. I miss you.

On an Apple silicon Mac, After Effects hasn't been able to export a motion graphic template (MOGRT) with a video preview. The window just goes away. No export. It's been this way for the last few updates. No preview works just fine.

WebP supposedly has superior compression and certainly better browser compatibility. While HEIC captures high-quality images on devices, its limited web compatibility limits its widespread use.

Can HEIC surpass WebP, or is WebP's dominance here to stay? The new JPG?

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

HEIC, with 10-bit color, alpha channel support, and wider color gamut compared to JPG, seemed promising as the new default web image format. Years later, it's primarily used for acquisition, especially on iPhones, while WebP is gaining popularity as the default.

It's universally agreed that Scottish highland cattle are the cutest cows.

[Jeff Alldridge @jeffalldridge]

What's with that new trend of videos on social media with a sharpening filter pushed to 2000%?
