Cline 3.38.3 is live now!
New:
- Expanded Hooks functionality and UI
- Grok 4.1 & Grok Code added to XAI
- Native tool calling for Baseten & Kimi K2
- Thinking level for Gemini 3.0 Pro preview

selling AI agents WITHOUT building them yourself means:
• no full-time staff
• you close deals, experts build
• $5K-$15K+per deal (minimum)
• clients see ROI fast
If your goal is scaling past $50K/month, this model beats building everything yourself.

Today we are announcing cline-bench, an open source benchmark of real world agentic coding tasks that we are building together with the community.
cline-bench turns difficult Cline tasks from open source repos into containerized RL environments, with real repo snapshots, real prompts, and ground truth tests based on the code that actually shipped.
We are doing this because most coding benchmarks have become saturated and still evaluate models using tests that resemble puzzles rather than reflecting the production engineering work done by humans using coding agents. As a result, there's a gap between benchmark performance and real-world coding performance.
At the same time, model labs need evals that expose real failure modes in real workflows, so progress is measured on the same kinds of tasks engineers actually care about.
If you're working on hard open source problems, particularly in commercial OSS, you can participate by using the Cline Provider on open source repos while opted in to this initiative, and applying for our $1M Open Source Builder program.
The full details are in our blog (linked in the tweet below)
We are announcing cline-bench, a real world open source benchmark for agentic coding.
cline-bench is built from real world engineering tasks from participating developers where frontier models failed and humans had to step in.
Each accepted task becomes a fully reproducible RL environment with a starting repo snapshot, a real prompt, and ground truth tests from the code that ultimately shipped.
For labs and researchers, this means:
> you can eval models on genuine engineering work, not leetcode puzzles.
> you get environments compatible with Harbor and modern eval tooling for side by side comparison.
> you can use the same tasks for SFT and RL so training and evaluation stay grounded in real engineering workflows.
Today we are opening contributions and starting to collect tasks through the Cline Provider. Participation is optional and limited to open source repos.
When a hard task stumps a model and you intervene, that failure can be turned into a standardized environment that the entire community can study, benchmark, and train on.
If you work on difficult open source problems, especially commercial OSS, I would like to personally invite you to help. We're committing $1M to sponsor open source maintainers to take part in the cline-bench initiative.
"Cline-bench is a great example of how open, real-world benchmarks can move the whole ecosystem forward. High-quality, verified coding tasks grounded in actual developer workflows are exactly what we need to meaningfully measure frontier models, uncover failure modes, and push the state of the art."
– @shyamalanadkat, Head of Applied Evals @OpenAI
"Nous Research is focused on training and proliferating models that excel at real world tasks. cline-bench will be an integral tool in our efforts to maximize the performance and understand the capabilities of our models."
– @Teknium, Head of Post Training @nousresearch
"We are huge fans of everything Cline has been doing to empower the open source AI ecosystem, and are incredibly excited to support the cline-bench release. High-quality open environments for agentic coding are exceedingly rare. This release will go a long way both as an evaluation of capabilities and as a post-training testbed for challenging real-world tasks, advancing our collective understanding and capabilities around autonomous software development."
– @willccbb, Research Lead @PrimeIntellect:
"We share Cline's commitment to open source and believe making this benchmark available to all will help us continue to push the frontier coding capabilities of our LLMs."
– @b_roziere, Research Scientist @MistralAI:

Coding agents struggle on complex work in large messy repos, and this won't get better until we stop using saturated benchmarks with tests that look nothing like real engineering.
That's why we’re committing $1M to cline-bench, our open benchmark for real world coding tasks!
Gemini 3 Pro is the best of Claude Sonnet 4.5 (coding, agentic thinking) and Gemini 2.5 Pro (actually handles 1m context well). It felt like model improvements got linear seeing how the jump from Sonnet 3.7 → 4 and GPT 4 .1 → 5 felt, but this is a true leap that’s worth a major version bump. Reddit is way better signal about model performance than current benchmarks, and "r/singularity" is raving about how much better this is than every other SOTA model. We’ve been test driving for a while and it’s been incredible seeing the hard working folks at google take all our feedback to get it working so well in @cline -- tell us how you like it, considering replacing Claude for Gemini as the default model!
🚀 Hey @SalesforceDevs - Agentforce Vibes 3.3.0 is here!
This release introduces two major new features — Deep Planning and Focus Chain — designed to make Agentforce more capable, more organized, and more aligned with how developers work.
🧠 Deep Planning
The new /deep-planning command transforms Agentforce into a thoughtful architect that deeply plans before it builds. When you run it, Agentforce investigates your codebase, asks clarifying questions, and generates a detailed implementation plan, complete with file paths, class structures, and step-by-step execution order.
It’s great for complex work like refactoring, adding cross-cutting features, or coordinating multi-layer changes. Deep Planning helps you stay in control, while Agentforce handles the research, analysis, and blueprinting, so every change starts with a clear plan.
✅ Focus Chain
Focus Chain brings structure and visibility to your tasks. It automatically generates and tracks to-do lists as Agentforce works, displaying real-time progress right in the header. Each step updates dynamically as tasks are completed, and you can edit the list at any time.
It also includes a Smart Reminder System to help keep Agentforce's work on track:
- A configurable task reminder interval
- Automatic reminders when switching from Plan Mode to Act Mode
- Optional manual reminders when to-do lists are edited
Together, Deep Planning and Focus Chain make long-horizon development easier to manage and keep your work organized from initial design to final commit.
Agentforce Vibes 3.3.0 gives developers the tools to plan smarter, track progress effortlessly, and stay focused from concept to completion.
