In a weird way, we have a Kamala Harris-Donald Trump election because Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell made the opposite choice. Pelosi chose to shiv Biden, her friend, to save the party. McConnell voted to acquit Trump, whom he loathes, to hold onto power.

Just like that, Americans see something transformational: a leader putting his country ahead of any personal interest or ambition. A seismic jolt of energy that raises the bar on all of us to get out there and do whatever it takes to win this election.
Biden deserves a lot of credit. We haven’t seen a selfless act of putting personal ambition aside in national politics in American a very long time. He’s a patriot.
