@JonHaidt@juliejargon@WSJ I don’t always agree with my state legislature, but their banning of cell phones in K-12 was maybe the best thing they have ever done. I am excited to see the behavioral and test score results next year! And the kids love it too once they get used to it.
@Janet_Mefferd I’m inclined to give everyone a judgement of charity on that score. We all sin, sometimes grievously, but God is gracious and patient and leads us to repentance eventually.
@Janet_Mefferd Unfortunately, this vague “my understanding from others” is how Mrs. Basham operates. Red meat for her base I guess, but no journalistic ethics while unjustly libeling others in the Kingdom. Really sad.
@alexbruesewitz No one has ever heard of Priceton University Professor Rober George, one of the most brilliant and impactful conservative political philosophers in our country and the world, widely recognized as such by those on the right and the left? Um, k bro. Do some reading.
@drantbradley Its certifiable. We moved to a town where my 3rd grader was going to play baseball for the first time. We were told to hire a private coach to work with him for hours each week so he wouldn’t be embarrassed and ostracized by the other players and parents! 3rd grade!!
@RScottClark Agreed, but what about the working poor who struggle in an economy where food, drug, and healthcare prices, just to name a few, are very high and continue to rise.
@drantbradley Multifaceted, but don’t dismiss finances. 4 kids, 3 bio, 1 adopted. LOVE it! But $struggles! Modest job and home, wife works part time, public schools. After tax, tithe, insurance, housing, food, etc, we go in hole most months. We are in debt and don’t know if we will ever be out
@drantbradley@edeweysmith LOVE THIS. This used to be an important part of my Reformed tradition. Just 30 years ago or so, when I was growing up, our pastors would do home visits a couple times a year. I can’t remember it happening since in any church I’ve been in.
@drantbradley Hope and pray y’all make it through this, but surely another Christian college would want to scoop you up for your value as a teacher, scholar, but also as public theologian/scholar of sorts. I may not always agree with you, but any Christian school would be blessed to have you.
