@GreatDismal You may have some issues with being on https://t.co/eHoJBrL5UM; it's a very large server and so some smaller servers are choosing to not connect to it due to how it's moderated (or not). But due to the distributed nature, there could be issues like that in other places too.

Folks, if you're not jumping to Mastodon because you think it's going to be really hard or something, it's not. The only way it's more complicated really is that user names aren't just @name, they're @[email protected]. Otherwise, it reminds me of Twitter in the good ol' days.

@louise3anne T-shirts can be hell to deal with due to sizing, so stick to rewards that are single SKUs, like books, stickers, that kind of thing. Lots of communication and encouraging backers to share is critical.

Those of us from the days of telnet etc. recognize Mastodon. It's what the internet was before billionaires controlled what you saw in exchange for selling your presence. It's slightly more difficult. It's also much better.

@ChrisseyWrites The only difference AFAIK is what shows up when you show the "server" feed. Otherwise, you can just follow people and check out hashtags wherever.
