I've been saying this for years. Schools bring in PD to provide safety training etc., but they would be well served if it went the other way around, too.
How many Black lives could have been saved if police departments had the de-escalation skills of special education teachers, social workers, or mental health professionals?

The bureaucracy processing free/reduced lunch paperwork as well as meal payments is the most unneeded thing in US K-12 today. Provide meals to kids. Convert those office positions to ones that actually support students and teachers. Source US farmers. This should be easy.
With the end of the free school meal program, some students don't qualify for free or reduced-price meals now, so they're skipping lunch.

@RyanEReyna@paigekowalski I agree with Ryan here! I feel blessed to be a researcher supporting DE and its statewide SIS. It also makes communicating results to districts easier- shared ownership of data assists with their perception of the validity of our findings.
