Wondering why a bigger trade gets you a worse price than the one you saw on screen? This thread is for you.

On most DeFi exchanges, the price you see quoted is not a fixed price you are guaranteed to get. It is just the price for a very small trade right now, and the more you buy, the further that price slips away from you.

This surprises a lot of people. You check the price, you place a larger order, and the actual rate you receive comes out worse than the number you were looking at.

So why would the size of your trade change the price you get?

$OP has a standoff to settle: hold the 0.1428 fast EMA on any pullback, or hand the 25.5% day back toward 0.13423.

Structure is bullish. Buyers reclaimed the range and broke to price discovery, and price is still sitting up near the highs.

The catch is extension. After a move this vertical, chasing the top of the range is the worse side of the trade.

0.1428 is the line in the sand. Defend it and expansion continues; lose 0.13423 and the breakout is void.
