As coaches & parents, the last thing we want (I would hope at least) is to kill the love of the game for our players.

It goes the same for referees. Don’t kill their love for the game. They’re involved in the game for a reason.

In Nebraska we continue to have a shortage of soccer referees. 51% of our refs are between 13 - 17 y/o. 22% are 17 y/o and under and have been a referee for less than a year.

This type of abuse by coaches and parents isn’t helping to retain young referees who are learning to referee soccer just like your 9 year old is learning to play soccer.
