Today, on our *actual* sixth birthday to the day, I pitched @journoresources for funding at the #DBACE Awards and oh my god it was terrifying and we WON £10,000 😭😭😭😭
@GWRHelp hello - we are on the delayed 7.04pm from London Paddington and need to change to get to the last Penzance train of the night, but it’s currently showing we’ll miss our connection. Can you help? We have two bikes

Things are always a bit tough over the winter; job adverts and sponsors dry up over Christmas and as you may have seen from *previous tweets* there’s a lot of unpaid invoices due to us atm.
Every copy helps us keep running programmes like our fellowship

I see we are doing this again. The idea of social platforms currently feels entirely exhausting, but hey, I’m there if you want me. I’m exhausted on all platforms!
But seriously, I talk about journalism jobs, advice, and opportunities — and building a better industry.
My upcoming @journoresources piece is on how much sports journalists know about different sports, and I am looking for participants in sports media to assist my research.
It should take a few minutes to fill out. Responses would be greatly appreciated!

Can you help us with this piece? Please get in touch with Maysaa or drop me a DM and I’ll link you up.
We’re particularly keen to talk about the path to leadership. If needed, this can be anonymous. @journoresources
I'm writing a feature for Journoresources on the underrepresentation of Black female journalists. If you're a Black female journalist in a newsroom, production, freelance, or visual journalism, I'd love to interview you! Please DM me. #JournoRequest
@Mr_John_Oxley Oh hell no, no, no. I’m freelance and this is my biggest fear in the world. I also think my mental health would not be coping with these.

@OnQueerStreet Interestingly, it seems this all kicked off from someone who said they don't record or use shorthand, instead typing notes on their phone — so I'm not sure how this chat ended up with this polarising framing from what seems to be an entirely different discussion topic.
I think this debate is super interesting (it rolls around every so often, we last covered it in 2021), mainly for the strength of views it elicits on both sides.
For the last couple of days I’ve been having some interesting chats with people here who call themselves journalists and don’t do shorthand. I’ve argued as best I can that it’s essential for many reasons. Not least, legal and professional requirements. You can only try so much.
@NickMDuffy I do think this is really important when it comes to shorthand and hardly ever gets mentioned. @April_L_Lloyd did a v good overview. Sadly the data was too small to get the numbers on this from journalism courses, but I think the studies show the point https://t.co/9xemT90KXG
