@holnicoteNH Lots of Bumble bees here in my garden in Shrewsbury on the Iris, thistles, Allums, geraniums etc. Lots of Holly or common blue this year & several orange tip, think the Honesty attracted them. Fair few various butterflies seen in field margins. Agree birds are hungry still.
@PintSizedFarmer Your containers will need some holes in the bottom to allow drainage, not too many that they dry out easily. Small stones in the bottom & or broken bricks etc if the container is deep helps with drainage & reduces amount of soil/ compost needed to fill them ..
There has been a loss of spaces for wild camping on Dartmoor. People are mad at the landowners and not the people who behaved badly that caused the reaction. Now I live in Cornwall. I see visitors leave their rubbish behind on the moors, on the beaches, in the woods.

@1StephenWhyte Found healthy new growth with big fat blackberries under the dead yesterday. I assume the rain we had 2/3 weeks ago revived them. Takes a lot to kill a bramble off ๐ช
