It’s one of the biggest mysteries of the universe: Dark energy. What is it? And why is it so hard to study? @NASAJPL Fundamental Physics Portfolio Manager John Callas explains what NASA is doing to unlock this mystery.
Congratulations to two of our teams for winning Silver Group Achievement Awards at NASA’s 2023 Agency Honor Awards. BioExperiment-01 served as a pathfinder mission for biological research on Artemis I. The Multi-Agency Tissue Chips team pioneered a multiagency team to support high priority public service research.
Flame on Earth vs flame in microgravity. 🕯️ On Earth, gravity-driven buoyant convection causes a candle flame to be teardrop-shaped & carries soot to the tip, which makes it yellow. In microgravity, where convective flows are absent, the flame is spherical, soot-free & blue.
This weekend, students from across the nation are headed to Miami to showcase their research on growing plants in space. 🌱 They’ll present their work to a team of NASA experts at the annual Growing Beyond Earth Student Research Symposium. Stay tuned for highlights! https://t.co/bfVuCYM35P
🎉 Congrats to @NASAGlenn’s Interactive @Space_Station Exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center for winning a 🏆 GOLD award & Best in Show in The Ohio Museums Association’s 2023 Visual Communication Competition. Learn about these 2 microgravity research facilities here: https://t.co/dyELFf8ACY
