@marktewks Thank you for sharing this article. As a young, competitive swimmer at the time, I remember crying when Victor left us. He was a hero. What struck me in this article is how little punishment that young man received for taking away one of our heroes.
@RajBhardwajMD When I’m out and about in #yyc, I mentally thank you for the fact that Calgarians don’t have to think, “Should I wear a mask?” It’s now simply a social norm b/c it’s required. Easy. Your presentation to #yyccc on July 20th had a lot to do with that. Thank you.
@PrairieCherry Wow! You are amazing. I tried asparagus a couple of years ago and couldn’t get anything to grow. On a side note—we went to an asparagus farm here in Alberta years ago and ate raw asparagus from the ground. Couldn’t get over how yummy it was. Like eating raw peas. Good luck!
Patty Hajdu, Canada’s health head honcho:
“If we all stopped moving for two weeks and nobody talked to anybody for two weeks and if we all just stayed put we would see the virus die. The virus needs hosts to continue to infect in order to continue to grow.”
Are we giving Albertans a false sense of security by saying “Only 2 cases of community #COVID transmissions”? #AHS Symptom Checker says “No test needed” if we haven’t had known contact with a traveler. Confirmed cases are skewed to be connected to travel. #ActLikeYouHaveIt
This is an effective visual that gets the concept of #SocialDistancing to sink in as to why it works! You’re not being rude by declining invitations or by not going out with friends—you’re showing leadership! And we thank you for it! #FlattenTheCurve
This graphical representation from the Washington Post shows exactly why we talk about physical distancing.

Now that schools are closed, Parents—please read. This is NOT a Snow Day. See #2 “No kid playdates, parties, sleepovers, or families/friends visiting each other’s houses and apartments.” #COVIDalberta#YYC
Once you're done watching this documentary, have a read of this article and consider how you can be part of the solution https://t.co/Yho8F7u9PX (h/t @miekamonster)
1/8 March 15: there are 313 #COVID19 cases in 🇨🇦, with 10 provinces now reporting a case. With the recent rapid⬆️in cases, Canada’s window to #FlattentheCurve is closing. The time for all Cdns to act is now. #doyourpart
@toddtalbot Really appreciated your talk about “Rightsizing” your home at the @CREBNow Forecast event in Calgary. Refreshing to hear! Time ran short so u had to speed thru this. Can u share what #3 is about?
Love the Canadian elements in @Netflix’s Knight Before Christmas—fictional town named after filming location “Bracebridge, Ohio,” seeing beloved @JayneEastwoodTO, and seeing her fictional husband dance his way on screen just as he did in the Sunlife commercial (Rudy Webb). 🇨🇦
@DrGundry My ailing dad is eager to start Plant Paradox. He’s in hospital (again) due to complications with autoimmune disease vasculitis. His specialist said he’s ok to change diet but “Don’t add a bunch of supplements”—assuming because of Prednisone & other meds. Thoughts?
